Handmade bead figures — a red-haired mermaid à la Ariel and a green frog — hang alongside love locks on the wrought-iron railing of the 1898 Burgbrücke near Moritzburg castle in Halle (Saale). Just one day after this photo was posted on Instagram, the delicate bead figures had already vanished — ephemeral art in public space. Only the love locks remained, which have by now become a permanent fixture of the cityscape at the Burgbrücke.
